Considering that they protected Grubauer then they either understood that no one was taking Francouz and JJ or they are really confident Grubi will sign. Up until now conventional wisdom would say it would be Grubauer, but it's Friday morning and he hasn't signed yet. So we'll wait and see but I'm far more concerned about the Landeskog situation and given that there's nothing much left to choose from in FA, I'm curious as to see how on Earth the Avs can remain the "odds on favorite" to win anything as they are currently constructed.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw that contract. Screw it, offer him a bridge deal and kick the blockbuster can down the road three years.
